Factory suggested rigging for weedless
 

this is the factory way to rig this bait and it works great for top 
water and just under the surface or even suspended fish.

BUT 
I rig it with a 1/4 oz.  red,  jig head with the hook extruding from the body cavity. It is not weedless but it casts very far and I bounce it on the bottom. The fish can't resist it. Use a rainbow trout color (#68) in clear to good visibility water, and a chartreuse (#63) in medium to low visibility, and Black with gold flake (#64)  for very low visibility.

 

A bait many tournament anglers would prefer to keep a secret, this is a wild and
crazy creature on the water. It darts, hops, nose-dives and walks like nobody's dog.
You can also skip it under docks. YES, I KNOW IT IS UGLY but try it

It rigs weedless ( see illustration above) via a built in hook pocket, casts a mile
and is a perfect "Skip-Bait" for getting up under overhanging brush. Originally
designed for largemouth bass, it's deadly on stripers and other freshwater species
and has a fanatical following among saltwater anglers stalking snook, redfish, tarpon
and trout.

The other day I went fishing and caught a redfish on 1/2 of the reel magic (Just the head) and the
 week before caught a snook on the same bait. The spotted Sea Trout love them.... I finally got
some more in stock. I have even caught barracuda on them. 
5/10/02 Fished the north Banana River. The Redfish are starting to school. We ran into them in
the very shallow flats Tons of bait. The redfish were very skittish but responded to the Reel Magic
rainbow trout #68. we caught 11 nice reds (5 to 15 lbs.) they were a little finicky but the #68 rainbow
trout REEL Magic hooked up every time it was presented properly........ Cast past the school, and retrieve
right through the school, slowly bouncing it on the bottom. 
They can't resist it.
