THOUGHT I WOULD RELAX AFTER A HARD DAY OFFSHORE GROUPER FISHING. FISHING AT THE DESTIN JETTIES JUST AFTER DARK. OUTGOING TIDE OF COURSE. ESPECIALLY THE LAST HOUR. LEANED OVER TO LIP GAFF THE RED AND LET HER GO WHEN A SUPER SIZE BULL SHARK CAME THRU THE DRIVE THRU WINDOW.  WOW GOT AN EARFUL OF SALTWATER WHEN SHE TURNED SEAWARD. THE HEAD WEIGHED JUST OVER 20 LBS.
CAPTAIN JOHN DUNN    DESTIN, FL. "THE WORLDS LUCKIEST FISHING VILLAGE"

This king salmon was taken in California, on the Delta.
I was out there at Blanton's annual Striper fest and BBQ.
I was fishing with Captain Brian Wilson and we were fishing for stripers on the fly.
It was getting late and Brian told me that I had one more cast, to make it count.
I made my last cast and began stripping it in when all of a sudden I was
hooked into 28 lbs of king salmon. That salmon made several long runs
into my backing, gave me 5 beautiful jumps, one right next to the boat and
did NOT want to come to the boat. It was taken on one of Dan Blanton's flash
tail clousers in pink and white.

Here's  a tarpon, and me on my boat "Del Rio" last year.
